Ministry of Defense – Physical Risk Analyses
The LO&Sportorganisation, overseeing fitness and training programs for the Royal Dutch Army, commissioned me to create a 3D illustration supporting their new Physical Risk Analysis materials.
Challenge
The goal was to visualize the new training framework, making it easier for commanders to follow and apply when assessing the physical demands of their units during missions.
Solution
I created a 3D roadmap-style illustration translating the assessment process into a realistic, structured visual. The piece highlights awareness, decision-making, and preparation as core elements of safe and effective mission planning.
Results
Delivered an accessible visual reference now used by commanders to support consistent training and risk evaluation across units.
02.03.01Research & Direction
Before building anything in 3D, I established the visual language, studying existing reference, defining the essential props and gear, and sketching the scene in 2D to validate composition and scope.

02.03.02Characters & Uniform Design
Every character needed a custom uniform. I applied the new NFP camouflage pattern, rank insignia, branch patches and matched it precisely to official Royal Netherlands Army specifications in CLO and Marvelous Designer.
Digital Garments
- Combat Vest
- Regular Jacket
- Combat Shirt

02.03.03Scene Building
With characters and composition approved, I constructed custom 3D objects, assembled the environment, and iterated with the client through annotated drafts.

02.03.04Impact
Now the standard visual reference used by commanders to assess unit readiness before missions.
